There are a number of questions that we get asked regularly and we have included these below. If you have a question that isn’t there then feel free to contact us.
How can I send you my work?
You can send your work to us through our submit page, which allows you to include the relevant information about your order.
How long will it take?
The time it takes to edit, proofread and return the document to you will depend on how quickly you want us to work on your document. As soon as payment has been made to us, your order will be confirmed and the turnaround time will begin.
How will I know you have received my work?
You will receive an email from us confirming your order details and that we have received your document. You will then be sent a link to pay for the services requested.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Yes. We don’t restrict our proofreading services to ‘working days’ or ‘9 to 5 Monday to Friday’ as other companies and freelancers do. Our editors are available to ensure your deadlines are met.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Popular payment methods offered include PayPal and credit or debit card. If you have a UK bank account, then we can also supply you with our business account details so you can send the funds electronically. However, the latter method does require further information about you and your place of study to help us prevent fraud.
Why are your prices higher for ESL/EAL students?
The higher amount payable by ESL/EAL students is because a proofreader will need to spend extra time on these documents to ensure consistency, clarity and coherence of your arguments.
Can you paraphrase my essay for me?
No. This goes beyond the scope of an academic editing and proofreading service, and contravenes the plagiarism and ethics guidelines that many universities and colleges hold to high esteem.
Can you write my essay?
No. This would constitute plagiarism and is not in line with your academic institution’s submission guidelines.
Can I request my work to be completed ASAP?
You can. We have the ability to offer return times of less than 24 hours for short documents (those under 5,000 words), but you should contact us if you require this service. However, we have found that the 24-hour turnaround time that we offer is quite adequate for those individuals who are time-conscious.
I’ve written too many words, can you cut it down for me?
No. Although a number of students actually consider this to be part of the editing and proofreading process, this type of adjustment to your work will need to be carried out by you.
Where are you based?
Uniproof operates from an office in Leeds, UK. Although we’re not a proofreading service in London, we are a short distance from a number of North England universities, including: UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire), Lancaster University, Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Leeds, Manchester Metropolitan University, and the University of Manchester.
